ZREO Second Quest is proud to announce
Twilight Symphony Selections!
ZREO Legacy is back, and this time we’ve resurrected Twilight Symphony! We are so excited to bring our best performing, most loved, and most listened to album from our old library back into public light. This time, our old masterpiece can be enjoyed forever.
ZREO Legacy: Twilight Symphony Selections is live on all major streaming platforms right now!
Like we did with ZREO Legacy: Ocarina of Time Selections, Twilight Symphony has returned as a curated collection of the most iconic (and licensable) tracks from the original work.
The Old Team and the Legal Aspect
Twilight Symphony was a very large project with a number of people involved with it. We’ve spent the past year going back and forth about the prospects of bringing it back as a ZREO Legacy release. With so many people involved, we needed the time to be absolutely sure we did everything correctly so that everyone involved received the credit they were due.
What we present on streaming today are the tracks we can properly license following U.S. Copyright Law. We strove to preserve the storytelling feel of the album as best we could, and we believe we did that. We’d like to give a huge shoutout to Wayne Strange and Jacob Barber for helping us navigate this process!
As we stated in our previous Legacy Blog Post, there are some tracks that we simply cannot revisit without the written permission from Nintendo of America and Nintendo of Japan. Under U.S. Copyright law, we can obtain mechanical licenses only for songs that have been released.
We’re sorry some of your favorite tracks may not have made the cut, and we want you to know the team feels your pain. Molly is especially devastated for having lost “Hyrulean Odd Jobs” and “Ooccoo, Fellow Adventurer”. Ari is heartbroken about Blizzeta.
Is this considered legal now?
Yes! ZREO Legacy: Twilight Symphony Selections has been vetted and licensed. As such, the album is free to stream on all major platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, and Amazon Music. You can purchase the album on iTunes and Amazon. Like Ocarina of Time Selections, listing Twilight Symphony Selections on Bandcamp is cost prohibitive for us at this time.
That being said, we cannot distribute the original Twilight Symphony. We ask that you kindly refrain from uploading the old tracks and full runtime videos to YouTube. In the event the legal landscape changes, we’ve already remastered the rest of the tracks. Rest assured, we are saving them for a rainy day. Fingers crossed!
Moving Forward
Official music videos will be available on our new YouTube channel soon.
We have big projects in the works, so please stay tuned for more information coming soon. In the meantime, enjoy Twilight Symphony Selections, and hop over to our Discord to let us know how it is!
Special Thanks
We wish to thank all of our Premium patrons for making this project a reality. ZREO has always been a passion project, but it’s a passion project that costs real money – historically self-funded. Subscription tiers help pay these costs, and we’ve recently revamped our Patreon to make supporting us more affordable. As a thank you, we’re offering perks such as early access to releases, Works in Progress, behind-the-scenes, and private chats with the team. Our Ruby+ Patrons will receive a digital copy of every album we release.
Your added support directly helps finance future projects. This includes funding for musicians, arrangers, and other collaborators. It helps finance legal licenses. It helps pay our lawyer. It helps pay our graphics designers. It helps everyone involved, and ultimately benefits you, our generous community members! Thank you!
